Donald Sterling banned for life by NBA over Racist comments

Denouncing Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling's racist comments in strong language, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced the league has banned Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million.

"The central findings of the investigation are that the man whose voice is on the recordings ... is Mr. Sterling and that the hateful feelings are those of Mr. Sterling. The views expressed by Mr. Sterling are deeply disturbing and alarming," Silver said.

"As for Mr. Sterling's ownership interest in the Clippers," Silver said. "I will urge the board of governors to force a sale of the team and will do everything in my power to ensure that happens."

Silver said he made the decision to ban Sterling Tuesday morning and that he will begin immediately the process of trying to get Sterling to sell the team.
"This has been a painful moment for all members of the NBA family," Silver said.

Sliver said he didn't poll the owners, but did speak to several who he said supports the decision.
"The owners have the authority subject to 3/4 vote, to remove him as owner," Silver said.

In Silver's first seminal moment as commissioner since taking over for David Stern in February, he issued the heaviest penalty possible under his power, which is governed by the NBA's private constitution and bylaws.
Sponsors began pulled out Monday and Silver said marketing partners should judge NBA based on league's response to Sterling incident.

LA CLIPPERS OWNER RACIALLY ABUSES MAGIC JOHNSON (CAUGHT ON TAPE)

L.A. Clippers Owner to GF:

Don't Bring Black People to My Games ...

Including Magic Johnson

4/25/2014 10:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE
042514_donald_sterling_large_launch_v4
L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling told his GF he does NOT want her bringing black people to his games ... including Magic Johnson ... and it's ALL on tape.

TMZ Sports has obtained audio of Sterling making the racist declaration during a heated argument on April 9th with V. Stiviano ... after she posted a photo on Instagram posing with Magic.

Sterling rails on Stiviano -- who ironically is black and Mexican -- for putting herself out in public with a black person (she has since taken the pic down).  But it doesn't end there.  You have to listen to the audio to fully grasp the magnitude of Sterling's racist worldview. Among the comments:

-- "It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?" (3:30)

-- "You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want.  The little I ask you is not to promote it on that ... and not to bring them to my games." (5:15)

-- "I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people." (7:45)

-- "...Don't put him [Magic] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me.  And don't bring him to my games." (9:13)

Sterling has a documented history of allegedly racist behavior -- he's been sued twice by the federal government for allegedly refusing to rent apartments to Blacks and Latinos.

He was also sued by former Clippers exec Elgin Baylor for racial discrimination -- though a jury was ultimately not convinced and shot down Baylor's case.

Sterling has been separated from his wife Shelly for years.  She remains a key player in running the team and sources tell us she's "mortified" by Sterling's comments.

We have made several calls to Sterling and his people ... so far, no word back.

R.I.P to Barcelona's Ex Coach . Tito Vilanova

Tito Vilanova, the coach who succeeded Pep Guardiola at Barcelona and won the Spanish league title in his only season in charge, died on Friday after a long battle with throat cancer. He was 45.

Vilanova, who has battled a recurring tumor in a saliva gland, was admitted to a local hospital in Barcelona last week. He reportedly had emergency surgery on Thursday.

"It is with sadness that Barcelona must announce that Francesc 'Tito' Vilanova has died today at the age of 45," the club said on their website. The death of our former coach occurred this afternoon when he could not overcome this disease which he had battled since 2011."

Vilanova first became ill in November 2011, while an assistant to Guardiola, and took a leave of absence after undergoing surgery. The soft-spoken Vilanova returned and took over from Guardiola the next season, when he led Barcelona to the Spanish league title with a record-equalling 100 points.

Vilanova had a second tumour removed in December 2012 and travelled to New York several times during the season to receive further treatment before returning to the sidelines. In April 2013 Vilanova said he felt fine and "had never thought about quitting". He finished the season before suddenly being forced to resign following a relapse in July.

As an assistant, Vilanova helped Guardiola propel Barcelona into their most successful period and transform a team led by Lionel Messi into one of the world's best ever. Barcelona won 14 of a possible 19 major trophies from 2008-12 under Guardiola before adding the league title with Vilanova in 2013.

Despite the impressive league display, Vilanova was unable to win another Champions League title last season. Barcelona lost to the eventual champions, Bayern Munich, 7-0 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

As Guardiola's assistant, Vilanova provided the tactical know-how that helped the coach build one of the best teams in the history of the sport winning two Champions League titles in their impressive haul.

Vilanova will also be remembered for his role in a brawl in the 2010 Spanish Super Cup won by Barcelona, when Real Madrid's then coach, José Mourinho, poked him in the eye.

As a young player, Vilanova was at Barcelona's training academy from 1984-89 but never made it to the first team. Instead, he went on to play for clubs such as Celta Vigo and Mallorca before his career was cut short by a serious knee injury.

Vilanova then went into coaching and got a job with Barcelona's cadets, tutoring players such as Gerard Piqué, Cesc Fábregas and Messi. Vilanova left to work as the sport director at third-division Terrassa before returning to Barcelona to take over the club's "Barca B" feeder team.

Barça sent their "deepest condolences" to Vilanova's family and said they would be opening a space in the main grandstand at the Camp Nou for people to express their condolences.

The club's president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, said on Twitter: "Tito Vilanova was a wonderful person, and will never be forgotten at FC Barcelona. Thank you for everything you taught us. Rest in peace."

Mourinho, now Chelsea's manager, said on his club's Twitter account: "Tito Vilanova's passing is a sad day for football, for Barcelona and most importantly for his family and friends. On behalf of everybody at Chelsea Football Club I send my deepest condolences at this most difficult time."

Vilanova is survived by his wife, Montse Chaure, and two children. His son Adrian is in Barcelona's youth academy.

Formula one boss in bribe scandal

Chief Executive Officer Bernie Ecclestone attacked prosecutors' case on the first day of his Munich bribery trial as the 83-year-old fights to keep control of the motor-racing series.

Ecclestone's lawyers read a statement that refuted allegations that he paid a $44 million bribe to ensure that he kept his role as head of the racing series before a sale of a majority stake. Gerhard Gribkowsky, the man who received the alleged bribe and prosecutors' main witness, lied repeatedly about the events, Ecclestone said.

"The accusations are based on statements by Dr. Gribkowsky that are incorrect, misleading and incoherent," his lawyers said in a written statement to the press. "They do not take account of the real course of events in 2005 and 2006 regarding Formula One and the life of Mr. Ecclestone."

The corruption scandal has plagued Ecclestone since Gribkowsky was first arrested three years ago. The former chief risk officer of Bayerisches Landesbank was convicted in 2012 of accepting bribes and sentenced to 8 1/2 years in prison.

Gribkowsky, who managed the lender's interest in Formula One, said in his own court case in 2012 he was paid $44 million to steer the sale of the bank's 47 percent stake in the racing circuit to CVC Capital Partners Ltd., a U.K.-based buyout firm, and agreed to a sham contract under whichEcclestone received a kickback

Justin bieber attacked for visiting shrine in Japan

Justin Bieber apologises after visiting controversial Yasukuni war shrine in

Justin Bieber has apologised and insisted he loves Japan and China after stepping into a bitter fight over history by visiting a controversial war shrine in Tokyo.

The troubled Canadian pop prince posted a snap of himself at Yasukuni shrine on his Instagram account - tweeting the link to his 51 million Twitter followers - with the message "Thank you for your blessings".

The shrine is seen across Asia as a symbol of Japan's perceived lack of penitence for its imperialist past.

An attached museum peddles a view of World War II deemed unpalatable by most mainstream historians, casting Japan as a victim and a frustrated liberator of Asia.

A storm erupted across social media after the posting, with fans lambasting the 20-year-old star for historical ignorance, and even China's foreign ministry suggesting the young singer should educate himself on the issue.

As the story gained traction and was picked up by mainstream media, the picture was removed.

Around 13 hours after the original tweet, Bieber issued a mea culpa.

While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine. I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer.
To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan
- Justin Bieber @justinbieber
The apology came after irate users flooded social media networks with complaints.

"Hey Justin, do u even know where that is?" wrote Instagram user vivien_kong.

I would like to scold him and beat him like a child.
User on Sina Weibo, China's version of Twitter
"Yasukuni shrine is the place where to worship the Japanese WWII soldiers. And do u have any efing idea that is how the Japanese Nazi killed American and other Asian countries innocents?"

On Sina Weibo one user wrote: "I would like to scold him and beat him like a child"

"China should ban Bieber, that would be a sensible decision," wrote another.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang, said he had not been aware of Bieber's visit to the shrine.

But he added: "I hope that this Canadian singer after visiting the Yasukuni shrine can have a clear understanding of Japan's history of invasion and militarism, and of the source of Japan's militarism".

The backlash recalls Bieber's visit to the Anne Frank museum in Amsterdam a year ago, when he sparked a furore with a message in the guest book at the house of the Jewish teenager, who died in a World War II concentration camp.

"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber," he wrote.

"Beliebers" are the nickname given to the singer's legions of fans, many of whom are pre-teen girls.

The Anne Frank museum defended the teen idol over the row, expressing gratitude that he had taken time to visit, but the comment caused uproar.

The once squeaky-clean Canadian has run into repeated trouble in recent times and is facing possible deportation from the US in connection with an alleged drag racing incident.

Bieber also faces an assault charge in Canada for allegedly striking a limousine driver on the back of the head.

Wednesday's episode came hours before US President Barack Obama arrives in Tokyo at the start of a four-country Asian tour.

On Tuesday nearly 150 Japanese lawmakers paid homage at Yasukuni, sparking protests from China, which said an offering earlier in the week by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was "a slap in the face" for Obama

Shaquille O'Neal's linkedin profile

We would love to network with you sometime, Shaquille O'Neal

Plenty of people out there will try to give you advice on how to make a great LinkedIn profile, but you should just give up right now because your LinkedIn profile will never be as good as Shaquille O'Neal's.

For some reason, the folks over at Slate found the NBA legend's profile and confirmed that it's really his and not a fake. And it's just glorious. Where most people write their title and company (for example, "Reporter, TIME") Shaq simply wrote the following:

Owner, A lot of companies

Can we all take a moment to appreciate how incredible that is? Farther down, in the "Experience" section, Shaq writes:

CEO, PRESIDENT

Alot of different companies. Inc

Below that, he elaborates:

I'm working on a lot of different ventures. My best asset is that I am proven to lead teams to championships. I mean multiple championships

So yeah, nobody else is ever going to top this.

Stuck in Jail 'Til June ... At Least

EXCLUSIVE
0423_chris_brown_tmzChris Brown will rot behind bars until June -- at the very least -- because the singer's latest bid for freedom was just DENIED.

Brown -- who was jailed last month after getting booted from rehab -- was flown to D.C. and promptly jailed  as he awaited trial in his assault case.

The trial was supposed to start today ... but it was just postponed until June.

Brown asked the judge in the Rihanna beating case to release him, but the judge just shut him down.

Translation: Brown will soon be flown back to L.A. -- where he'll remain in jail until June ... at the very least.  It looks like he'll be flown back to D.C. on Con air ... a trip way worse than economy.

The stakes are high ... if Brown is convicted in D.C. ... the judge in the Rihanna case could violate his probation and sentence Brown to four years in PRISON.

D'banj visited Nyanya blast victims

D'banj visited Nyanya blast victims yesterday April 22nd, where he reportedly donated several gift items to the victims and settled some hospital bills.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the entertainer visited the victims at the Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja in company of the FCT Health Secretary, Dr Ademola Onakomaiya.

During his visit, D'banj said the government alone cannot do all that is required for peace to reign in the country.
"I am a Nigerian and I am affected by any tragedy that befalls us and particularly in the spirit of Easter, I came to show the victims support. I have seen that the survivors are responding positively to treatment and thanked the medical team here for the efforts.
"We are appealing to the perpetrators of these acts to have a rethink and support the peace initiative so that our people would not be subjected to such wickedness,” he said.

Manchester United sack Manager David Moyes

Manchester United manager David Moyes has been sacked, only 10 months after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson.

He was dismissed at a meeting with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at the club's Carrington training ground shortly .

Moyes, 50, was chosen by Ferguson as the man to succeed him when he retired after 26 years in charge last summer.
Player-coach Ryan Giggs is expected to take charge of United's next game at home against Norwich on Saturday.
The BBC understands coaches Steve Round and Jimmy Lumsden have also left their posts.

The club had previously refused to comment on national newspaper reports (external) on Monday that Moyes - who left Everton to sign a six-year deal with the Premier League champions - would be dismissed before the end of the season.

But in a statement on Tuesday the club said it "would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role".
United, who currently lie seventh in the table with four games remaining, are guaranteed to record their lowest ever points tally in the Premier League having struggled at Old Trafford in particular this season.

Under Moyes, they have lost six league games at home, been beaten in the FA Cup by Swansea at Old Trafford and were unable to prevent Sunderland knocking them out of the Capital One Cup in the semi-finals.
In March, some supporters chartered a plane to fly overhead trailing a banner with the words "Wrong One - Moyes Out" - a reference to the banner at Old Trafford that proclaimed Moyes to be the "Chosen One" - during the Premier League win over Aston Villa.
The Reds will also miss out on Champions League football for the first time since 1995 and are in danger of missing out on European competition altogether for the first time since 1990.

United did reach the last eight of the Champions League before being knocked out by Bayern Munich and Moyes argued that their best displays had been in the competition.
But the Scot has been dogged by claims he has fallen out with members of his squad.

When midfielder Anderson joined Fiorentina on loan in January, he was quoted as saying other United players "wanted out" (external) although he later denied it.

Rio Ferdinand (external)and Robin van Persie also made less than complimentary comments about his management style, while Javier Hernandez and Wilfried Zaha posted cryptic quotes on Twitter.

At the weekend, Manchester-born striker Danny Welbeck was reported to be considering his future after becoming frustrated at regularly being played out of his favoured position.
Moyes left Everton after 11 seasons saying he could not turn down the opportunity to move to Old Trafford and began his job on 1 July.

However, United endured a difficult summer transfer window and failed in reported bids for Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas.

A double bid for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines was dismissed as "derisory and insulting" by Moyes' old club Everton, although Fellaini finally joined on transfer deadline day for £27.5m.

Moyes was unhappy United were given a difficult start to the season, playing Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City in their first five games.
"I find it hard to believe that's the way the balls came out of the bag, that's for sure," he said.

But his reign began in style with a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in the Community Shield at Wembley, followed by a 4-1 win away at Swansea City in the first league game of the season.
However, things quickly got worse with defeats at Liverpool and City, setting the tone for what will be United's worst ever Premier League season.

Getting Married in my Country ,Part 4

Marriage in my country
I come from a country in the black continent of Africa, the west side of it and the wealthiest of it, funny yet saturated with poverty. Overtime especially in my generation, there is being an orientation shift of marriage from (true) love to materialism. Probably owing to time and age, like Fat Joe said "material girl in a material word." Hopefully the girls don't hiss and feel am not going to do a "hit em up" on the men. Most Nigerian men today I feel won't settle for housewives, we want a career woman with a good job and pay, a strong pillar for financial security. When such guys fall in love with a simple woman, the chop and go approach applies then on to the next one. Some guys go as far as going for girls from affluent families to seek shelter from the hardship of life. And the girls now feeling so justified and relieved for the material vindication. Notwithstanding, the girls are on a greater measure convicts for material and financial shelter in the sphere of marriage.

No reasonable man who wants his daughter or sister to settle for a poor man but with the stuffs we see these days –"omo!" MONEY APPEARS TO BE LOVE.
Marriage in my country today occurs very late in the lives of her youth. Unlike before, girls in the universities start getting married from their final years or not too long after graduation. How many today find their spouse in the National Youth Corp Service sef." Na wa o."

Four years after graduation, a bulk of the youth are still burking with the struggle and for the normal street boy or girl, "no time mayne". Just pump it up and deliver a baby – so many baby mamas and dramas. Some guys don't even think about marriage, they are only forced into it because of the societal or parental pressure. Funny how a man of 33 years old would brag he is an ELIGIBLE bachelor and you will be like seriously!
We have generally spoilt the marriage institution, the guys are trying to be like Dangote before marriage and a lot of girls would have to rust a little at home owing to the standards and pepper (hell) they have shown the boys at their prime. Not too long, a Nigerian yoruba actress was encouraging single ladies to get along with married men since the single men are not relationship serious and marriage ready.

The cankerworm has really eaten deep, no doubt. A man can be rich forever but the woman cannot be hot forever, at least, relative to the young girls in the making. No wonder the beautiful ones are not yet born but seriously, how many guys can beat their chest that they have not seen hell cause they faced competition over their girl. Common its always about the dough! And how many girls would say they have not put their boyfriends on pending over a wealthy or perhaps, some KEYBOARD WARRIORS, if you know what I mean?

I have friends who cast spells on the keyboard and I know how they change girls like they flip a coin. Don't get me misunderstood but these stuffs have affected the institute of marriage – just saying and that's what it is. And let it be known that I don't support the vagaries of UNEMPLOYMENT and POVERTY accompany couple into the institution but in the 21st century, appears we are asking for more in time and affluence forgetting the basis, LOVE. However, the basis alone wouldn't suffice.

Editor's note
A lot of my friends are getting married and I am like "na wa o." hopefully, they got married to the one they love and not because time ain't on their side. As for me, that marriage thing "get as e be" in this new age, it should be more of an alliance, agreement, understanding, friendship and Love . I don't think I know when i will get married. Not that I don't dig the institution of marriage as much, but if the right girl comes and tools are in place I mean cash, a man got no choice but to secure .but if you do as a result of pressure from time, age, people , family and friends. May the pressure guide thee in it. Happy married life to all the couples staining my wall with their wedding Invitations and pictures. And if I post any babe's picture on my wall or Blackberry and you ask me how far? I might be the first to expose you or better still do the lesser evil, blackmail you .
Thanks to MOYO AKINLADE for the huge Contribution.

Before I forget, happy birthday to me...... God bless me and give me long life in good health and wealth. I want Ferrari, I want Designers , I want Mansions ... Plus Love too... Lol

All Of You (A John Legend Cover) by Qhriso

So we have seen him on billboards as a model and on TV as an actor. Then there was reality TV where he not only participated but also won the Gulder Ultimate Search season 8. Few weeks ago, he dropped his dance cover of Chris Brown & Nicki Minaj's "Love More." In case you missed it, here are the links https://t.co/3tZryTXa3Y http://youtu.be/hH6QszEmEAE

Remember when I asked the question then "what CAN'T Chris Okagbue do?" We are still trying to wrap our heads around the fact that the dude can actually dance and then BANG!!! this drops.
The multi-talented Chris Okagbue AKA Qhriso whom other than being the Ultimate Man 8, a model, an actor, a great dancer, producer (film), songwriter and as you are about to hear, a good singer as well drops his very own cover of what is considered by many as the world's number 1 love song, John Legend's "All Of Me"

Yes, we have heard other amazing covers. But this goes even softer and sweeter. It's going to be on replay on my playlist for a long time. This is only a tip of the iceberg. I reckon Qhriso has a lot more to offer musically. I sure can't wait. But for now, have a feel of this "All of You" and thank me later. http://hu.lk/6p1vapp5u4u8.

Alleged bomb planted in National assembly

Just as everyone wonders at the Abuja bomb blast attack and where could possibly be the next target, chaos took the order of the day at the National Assembly as staff abandoned their duty posts as early as 1:30pm to avoid being killed by a bomb allegedly planted in the complex.

According to workers at the National Assembly that spoke our correspondent, "order had been given that everyone should vacate the complex for security reasons," he said.

Effectively, commercial banks operating within the complex closed shop at about 1.pm claiming that there was an order that they should vacate the complex.

The Civil servants officers were also seen taking their leave as they responded, "bomb planted everywhere."

The announcement from an unidentified source also said that all commercial food vendors should vacate the complex immediately after a rumour that a bomb has been planted within the building.

The bomb scare story started making wave around 11:00a.m and by 2:00pm the complex was empty.

A senior security aide to the Clerk of the House of Representatives, (name withheld) confirmed the incident by saying, "there was no instruction to that effect that they should vacate the complex". So, 2:30pm all staff of NASS had left the complex.

Tambuwal and Saraki donate Blood to Bomb blast Victims

Mr. Tambuwal donated the blood at the National Blood Transfusion Centre, Abuja.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, on Tuesday donated blood to be used for the survivors of the Abuja explosion.

Mr. Tambuwal donated the blood at the National Blood Transfusion Centre, Abuja.

Before Mr. Tambuwal's donation, a senator and former Kwara governor, Abubakar Saraki, had also donated blood at the centre.

Nigerians have been urged to donate blood at various centres to assist in blood transfusion for victims of the Monday morning attack.

At least 71 people were killed, and over 124 injured in an explosion which rocked a motor park in Nyanya, Abuja on Monday morning.

The injured have been admitted at various hospitals around the Nigerian capital.

White Widow linked to Abuja Bombings

The huge explosion destroyed forty buses and left a sickening trail of death and destruction as fuel tanks on nearby vehicles also exploded amid the heat of the blast.

But while nobody has officially claimed responsibility, security sources, according to reports fear the bombing may have been a revenge attack for the death of Lewthwaite's mentor two weeks ago – al-Shabaab terror chief Makaburi, aka Sheikh Abubakar Shariff Ahmed.

A senior security source said agents across Africa were on high alert after the assassination of Makaburi – reportedly by the UK and US funded Kenyan Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) 14 days ago. Adding that Lewthwaite and her associates "wanted revenge".
The source said:
"Makaburi was always believed to be at the very top of the hierarchy of terror organisation al-Shabaab. Intelligence suggests he introduced Samantha Lewthwaite to many influential figures within the al-Shabaab network. He guided her on her path to Jihad. His murder was seen as yet another act of war."
Lewthwaite, 30, is believed to be in Nigeria, Kenya or Somalia, where Islamist terror networks are closely linked, making it far easier for her to evade detection than in Europe.  The daughter of a British Army soldier, she is already on Interpol's Most Wanted list in connection with seven murders as well as the siege of the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya in September last year which left 67 dead and nearly 200 injured.
She was reportedly caught at a checkpoint in Nigeria just six months ago – but managed to bribe her way to freedom.

She is also believed to have widely used the alias 'Natalie Webb' and travelled on a forged South African passport. She has been on the run since January 2012 and is now one of the most wanted international fugitives in the world, officially being hunted by 190 countries!

Sony Music back to Nigeria

In Banga Lee's own words, "Welcome to Nigeria… Welcome to Sony Nigeria… DB Records stunting through… finally they are coming back…" He also goes on to say "A good friend and business man berths SONY in Nigeria after a long hiatus… if y'all don't know Mr Watson now, I'm sure you will soon… #SonyNigeria #DBRecords".

For those who know about the history of Nigerian music, you'd recall that some of the major international record labels were in Nigeria till sometime around the early 90′s.

The return of Sony Music shows how much Nigerian music has progressed in recent years.

Hopefully this will take our music to even greater heights across the globe and usher in more investment in our entertainment industry from the Western World.

Dencia Vs Lupita

According to MailOnline
Dencia has finally landed on one of world's most visited online media MailOnline following her outburst over Lupita's new endorsement as the new face of cosmetics giant, Lancôme.
Here's how MailOnline is reporting it…
"Nigerian and Cameroonian pop star Dencia has hit out at Lupita Nyong'o for her new contract with Lancome, accusing her of bowing to 'white people companies'.
In an angry tweet directed at the 12 Years A Slave star, she wrote: 'Oh @Lupita_Nyongo cln't talk abt the bleaching creams white people (Companies) make cuz the white man pays her, they own her!! [sic]'.
The comment comes just a month after Miss Nyong'o mentioned Dencia – who has been accused of marketing her own brand of skin-bleaching cream called Whitenicious – in a speech about learning to value the color of her own skin.

The pop star is no stranger to controversy; in a February interview with Ebony, she all but admitted that Whitenicious is intended as a skin-lightener, not as a cure for dark spots as it claims.'When you take that picture and you put a picture of Dencia darker, this is what you're telling people – the product really works,' she said.
'And guess what? People really want to buy it. It's what it is. I don't really care.'
Given her defiant and hypocritical attitude, it's no surprise the fiery singer was angered when Miss Nyong'o called her out in a speech at Essence's Black Women in Hollywood event on February 27.
In her talk, the 30-year-old opened up about how conventional standards of beauty once affected her self-esteem, reading aloud a letter written to her by a young girl who viewed her as a role model.

'Dear Lupita,' reads the letter. 'I think you're really lucky to be this black but yet this successful in Hollywood overnight. I was just about to buy Dencia's Whitenicious cream to lighten my skin when you appeared on the world map and saved me.'
'My heart bled a little when I read those words,' the actress said through tears, explaining how as a child, she, too, would pray that she'd one day wake up with lighter skin.
But while the actress saw the letter as a source of inspiration, Dencia took it as a personal attack.
After her angry tweet at Miss Nyong'o, criticism poured in, with one person tweeting: 'B**** lupita is the new face of Lancôme!! SHE WINS!! And you're just TRASH [sic]'.

In her response, Dencia said of the cosmetics company: 'But they sell bleaching cream tho [sic]'.
The pop star is likely referring to Lancome's Blanc Expert range of cosmetics, which are actually advertised as 'brighteners' that 'regulate melanin production and awaken the luminosity of the skin'.
And as far as Dencia's claim that Lancome is a 'white people company', a quick perusal of the website reveals that it has a number of concealers and foundations in darker skin tones."

Popular Wrestler "The Ultimate Warrior is dead."

The Ultimate Warrior is dead.
According to a statement posted on the WWE website, the late wrestling superstar was 54.

The news, posted late Tuesday night, led to a flood of tributes from fans and WWE performers and officials and comes on the day the WWE released a DVD in Warrior's honor.

In the statement, the company said, "WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.

"We are grateful just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans. WWE sends its sincere condolences to Warrior's family, friends and fans."

Warrior was known for his energetic style, sprinting down the aisle to the ring; violent shaking of the ropes to psych himself up; and unique interview style that often left fans unsure of his message.

Warrior was born James Hellwig, but legally changed his name to Warrior in 1993. He is survived by his wife Dana and daughters Indiana and Mattigan, who had accompanied him to the podium at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony Saturday night in New Orleans.

In his final public appearance Monday night, Warrior donned the long jacket with his image airbrushed on the back, similar to what he wore during his wrestling days, and put on a mask that looked like his trademark face paint. It was his first appearance on Raw since 1996.

"No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own," he told the crowd. "Every man's heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something that's larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers — by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him, and make the running the man did live forever.

"I am the Ultimate Warrior, you are the Ultimate Warrior fans and the spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will run forever."

Warrior began his wrestling career as part of a group of bodybuilders-turned-wrestlers in Southern California. His early career was marked by his work in a tag team known as the Blade Runners with Steve Borden, who would later become Sting. Warrior was known as Blade Runner Rock and Borden as Blade Runner Flash.

His use of the Warrior name came in the Texas-based World Class Championship Wrestling where he worked as the Dingo Warrior and was billed as being from Queens, N.Y.

Warrior came to the then-WWF in 1987 and was re-branded as The Ultimate Warrior. He won his first Intercontinental title from the Honky Tonk Man in a match that lasted less than a minute at the first Summer Slam in 1988. He would lose the title to Ravishing Rick Rude and then regain it at Sumer Slam in 1989.

He was still the champion leading into the main event match at WrestleMania in Toronto in 1990, which might be the highlight of his career. The bout against Hulk Hogan was for Hogan's WWF title and Warrior's Intercontinental title.

Warrior won the match and was embraced and presented with the WWE title belt by Hogan afterward, in a passing of the torch from the biggest star of the 1980s to one of the biggest stars of the 1990s.

"We are all so sad that the Ultimate Warrior has passed away," WWE chairman Vince McMahon tweeted.
